Usually, a case starts when you get in touch.
Ours started when the flight was cancelled.
The FlyBack system follows the official Israel Airports Authority flight board 24 hours a day and samples it every 5 minutes. When a flight is cancelled, we save the evidence from the first sample in which the change appeared, before you even knew you might be owed something. This page shows exactly how it works, on a real flight.
One evening in the life of a cancelled flight, as we recorded it
Arkia flight IZ1161 to Larnaca, 3 Aug 2026, scheduled departure 21:50. The three records below are real records from our system, each with the start of its digital fingerprint. Look at what happened that evening:
- 16:20Cancelled · CANCELED
File fingerprint 25216acf8ab4ea67…The first sample in which the cancellation appeared on the board. Saved with a timestamp and a file fingerprint.
- 16:35Delayed · DELAYED
File fingerprint 188fdd360285126b…A quarter of an hour later the status changed to “Delayed”, with a new time of 03:05 at night.
- 21:05Cancelled · CANCELED
File fingerprint c54744a45dc736bf…45 minutes before the scheduled departure, the flight is cancelled again. This is the last status recorded before the original departure time.

From the cancellation to the demand, in four steps
The Ben Gurion flight board is sampled every 5 minutes, for every flight, all year. A disruption is picked up within minutes of being published.
Every status change is saved as a record with a timestamp and a SHA-256 fingerprint, which makes any change to the record detectable against the copy saved in our system.
A flight number and a date, and a reasoned answer in seconds: the amount, the section of the law and how certain it is. If the answer is no, we explain why.
Signed? A demand letter with the recorded evidence annex goes to the airline within 24 hours, and the deadlines the law sets are tracked automatically.
And there are people behind the machine: the core service documents were reviewed by external Israeli legal counsel, and every demand is checked by a person before it is sent. Our full method.
The legal point everything rests on
Under Israel's Aviation Services Law, the party that has to prove it is exempt from compensation is the airline, not you. "Extraordinary circumstances" are a claim the airline has to support. Against a single passenger with a memory and a boarding pass, that claim is easy to make. Against a recorded timeline from the official board, which sometimes also shows which other airlines did take off from the same airport at the same time, it is a claim that has to be proven. That is the whole difference, and it is why we built the system to collect the evidence in real time instead of rebuilding it afterwards.
What exactly the evidence proves: each record shows what the public Israel Airports Authority board displayed at the time of the sample, with a timestamp and a file fingerprint. It does not claim to prove, on its own, the reason for the cancellation or when the passenger was notified, so for some cases we will also ask for your documents. Evidence that knows its limits is stronger, not weaker.
What we do not do: we do not promise a result, we do not show "success rates" without a real sample behind them, and we do not open a case we do not believe in. Our fee exists only if you received money, so our screening is strict. That is also the simplest reason why you want us to believe in your case.
What exactly the system does
When we write "FlyBack records relevant changes from the Ben Gurion flight board and keeps each recorded entry with a SHA-256 fingerprint", we mean a precise definition: a system that runs this entire chain together, automatically, since 1 Jul 2026:
- ✓Continuous sampling of the public Israel Airports Authority flight board, while the event is happening
- ✓Saving every status change of a disrupted flight as a separate record
- ✓A system timestamp and a SHA-256 fingerprint for every record, at the time of the sample
- ✓A chain of changes in which every record can be checked for integrity against the saved copy
- ✓Automatically linking the record to the section of the law and the possible amount
- ✓Producing an evidence pack and an administrative demand from those same records
- Flight compensation claim services operating in Israel
- Law firms marketing flight compensation services to Israeli passengers
- Global platforms marketing in Hebrew to the Israeli market
In the checks we ran, we did not find a service operating in Israel that performs the full chain in the definition. Some services check flight data, and some offer an automatic check, but we did not find a service that records the disruption as it happens and keeps it as a chain of records that can be checked for integrity.
- The check covers public information published on the services' websites on the date of the check
- Flights before 1 Jul 2026 are checked manually and from historical sources, not from a record collected at the time of the event
- The claim says nothing about the quality of anyone else's service

Questions about the method
What do you mean, the evidence exists before I contacted you?+−
Our system samples the official Israel Airports Authority flight board every 5 minutes, around the clock, for every flight from and to Ben Gurion. When a flight is marked as cancelled or delayed, every status change is saved from the sample in which it appeared, with a timestamp and a SHA-256 fingerprint. When you type your flight number, you are not starting a check. You are meeting an evidence file that already exists.
Why does this make a claim stronger?+−
Because under Israel's Aviation Services Law, the burden of proving an exemption ("extraordinary circumstances") is on the airline. An airline that receives a demand based on a fingerprinted timeline from the official board, sometimes including other airlines that took off from the same airport at the same time, is in a very different negotiating position than with a passenger holding a screenshot. We do not promise a result, and we are not allowed to; we make sure the demand arrives with the strongest case that can be built.
What is this SHA-256 fingerprint?+−
Every record is saved with a cryptographic file fingerprint (SHA-256), calculated on the content of the record in its standard form, next to the timestamp of the sample. Changing a single character in the record changes the whole fingerprint, so any change to the record can be detected against the copy saved in our system. It is the same family of techniques used to verify the integrity of digital evidence. To be precise: this is a file fingerprint and a system timestamp, not a certified electronic signature and not a timestamp from an outside authority. The record shows what the public board displayed at the time of the sample. It does not prove on its own, for example, when you were notified of the cancellation, so some cases also need your documents.
What does AI do at FlyBack, and what does it not do?+−
The eligibility decision itself is not AI. It is a fixed rules engine that applies the sections of the law to the recorded data, so the same flight always gets the same answer, with the same section. We use AI where it really helps: drafting demand letters from supplied facts only, and a first sorting of airline replies. Every demand is checked by a person before it is sent, and no AI text decides eligibility or an amount. And beyond that: FlyBack is not a law firm, does not give legal advice and does not represent anyone in court, with or without AI.
And if the system says I am not eligible?+−
Then we tell you so, with the reason and the section of the law. Some checks end in "not eligible", for example when the cancellation was announced more than 14 days in advance, or in the exemption periods the law set during wartime. We do not open a case we do not believe in: our fee exists only if you received money, so our "no" is exactly what gives our "yes" its meaning.
How much does it cost?+−
26% plus VAT of the amount actually received, and only if it was received. Nothing upfront and no charge for the check. If the demand is rejected or not answered even after the warning letter, you can order a prepared small claims court file (the documents that were sent, the registered mail receipts and the completed claim form) at no extra cost. You review it, file it in your own name and attend yourself; court fees, service of documents, translation or an outside lawyer, if needed, are paid separately. The full price is published on the pricing page.
