How much does a flight cancellation claim cost?
You pay only if compensation was received.
The eligibility check and opening a case with FlyBack are free. You get 69.32% of the compensation received. The success fee is 26% plus VAT, which is 30.68% of the amount received, and it is charged only after the compensation has actually been received. No compensation, no fee. There is no opening fee, and the evidence file is included in the fee. A prepared small claims court file, if needed after the warning letter, is provided at no extra cost; court fees, filing, translation or an outside lawyer, if needed, are not part of the fee.

One fee rate, which does not go up when a case escalates
Global services add a "legal action surcharge" of 10%-50% once a case goes to court. With us the fee rate stays at 26% + VAT, and it does not increase because the administrative claim was escalated, for example with a follow-up or escalation letter. If you later decide to file a small claim yourself, FlyBack does not represent you in court.
A separate service, if you choose it: if the demand is rejected, you can order a self-filing kit: the official claim form filled in with the facts of your case, the defendant's details, numbered annexes and filing instructions. You review it, file it in your own name and attend yourself. The kit is provided at no extra cost; court fees, service of documents, translation or an outside lawyer, if needed, are paid separately. The flat-rate commitment applies to small claims court in Israel; in a case under the European regulation (EU261), legal action abroad, if needed, will be priced separately and only with your approval in advance.

Indicative comparison based on publicly available price lists checked in July-August 2026. Fees may vary by country, claim type, VAT and whether legal action is required. Please check each provider's current terms. Compensair shows its price only in its payment policy, section 4, and only in English: a 35% service fee, plus a 10% "Legal Fee" if legal costs were incurred. Its Hebrew pages show no percentage at all.
🔒 And beyond the price: every case we handle is based on recorded entries from the official Israel Airports Authority flight board, a source we collect in real time, before you even contact us. How it works →

And even if the airline refuses: you keep the full evidence file at no extra cost. Facts, evidence, the defendant's identity and the address for service from the official register, arranged so you can copy them into the form. Want the official form itself, filled in with the facts of your case? That is the filing kit, also at no extra cost. You file the claim yourself, in your own name.
You can also do it yourself, and it is free
The law does not require a representative. You may contact the airline yourself and, if needed, file a small claim in your own name. We are not selling you the right; it is already yours.
What you need to do it yourself:
- 01Evidence of what happened to the flight. Some of the most important operational evidence may be held by the airline, while other evidence may come from official flight records and your own documents.
- 02Taking apart a rejection. It arrives as a template, and to answer it you need to know which section applies and who carries the burden of proof.
- 03Keeping track of the deadlines. 21 days to refund the ticket price, 45 for the compensation, and 4 years before the claim expires. Nobody will remind you.
It is a legitimate route, and if you prefer it, choose it. Many private requests are answered late, with general excuses, or not at all, but some people do succeed.
With us, you pay for someone to prepare the demand, track the deadlines and follow up with the airline. The outcome and timing depend on the airline and the facts. If no compensation is received, you paid ₪0, and the evidence pack stays yours.
An example in shekels, nothing hidden
A family of 4 · a cancelled flight to Rome. The law sets the compensation per passenger, and this is the calculation, shekel by shekel.
Passengers often need to submit a claim themselves; compensation is not necessarily paid automatically.
At the current 18% VAT rate, the total fee is 30.68%, so you keep 69.32%. If the VAT rate changes, the total fee and the net amount will change accordingly.
We do not have customer ratings yet. FlyBack went live in July 2026, and we do not show stars we have not earned or invent testimonials. Once a customer receives compensation and agrees to publish a review, it will appear here with a link to its public source, so you can check it yourself. Until then, what we offer instead is the numbers above and our full method, which you can check.
Questions about pricing
Why 26%?
Because the right comparison is not the full amount, but what happens without a proper demand. Three things stand in the way: some of the most important operational evidence may be held by the airline, while other evidence comes from official flight records and your own documents; the rejection arrives as a template, and to take it apart you need to know which section applies and who carries the burden of proof; and the deadlines run (21 and 45 days, and 4 years before a claim expires) without anyone reminding you. We carry all three, fund them upfront, and receive 26% plus VAT (30.68% of the compensation) only if money reaches you. If it does not, you pay nothing, and the check and the evidence stay yours.
Can I claim compensation for a cancelled flight myself, without a company?
Yes, absolutely. The law does not require a representative: you may contact the airline yourself and, if needed, file a small claim in your own name, where lawyers generally do not represent the parties. Three things stand in the way of anyone doing it alone: some of the most important operational evidence may be held by the airline, not by them; the rejection arrives as a template, and to answer it you need to know which section applies and who carries the burden of proof; and the deadlines (21 days to refund the ticket price, 45 for the compensation, and 4 years before the claim expires) run without a reminder. It is a legitimate route, and if you prefer it, choose it. With us, you pay for FlyBack to prepare and manage the demand, track the statutory payment deadlines and follow up with the airline. The outcome and timing ultimately depend on the airline and the facts of the case. If no compensation is received, you pay ₪0.
Are there hidden costs?
No opening fee, no "handling fee", no charge for the check, and the evidence file is included in the fee. 26% + VAT of the compensation actually received (ticket refunds and reimbursed expenses are not part of the fee base). A prepared small claims court file, if needed after the warning letter, is provided at no extra cost; the passenger files the claim in their own name. Court fees and direct costs of legal proceedings are paid to those bodies directly and are not part of the fee.
What is the fee for a claim under the European regulation (EU261)?
The same fee. In a case under European regulation EC 261/2004 too (for example a flight that took off from Europe and landed 3 hours late or more, where compensation is €250-€600 per passenger), the fee is the same: 26% + VAT of the amount you actually received, and ₪0 if no compensation was received. For comparison, global services charge 30%-35% in such cases, and about 50% when the case goes to legal proceedings. Legal action abroad, if needed, is not included in the fee and will be offered at a separate price, with your approval in advance.
What else should I know before signing?
Two main terms in the agreement, shown upfront: (1) as long as the agreement is in force, the case is handled only through us, to avoid double demands to the airline; (2) you may cancel the agreement at any time, by phone, by email, by registered mail or on the cancellation page, without limiting any cancellation right you have under consumer protection law. Before the demand reaches the airline, cancelling costs nothing, and there is no cancellation fee. If the demand has already been delivered, the consequences of cancelling, including any fee that may become payable if compensation is later received as a result of that demand, are governed by the fee agreement and applicable law. The full details are on the cancellation page. The full signed documents are available to you on your case page as soon as you sign.
When do I actually pay?
Only after the compensation has reached you. The fee is taken from the amount received, not before it and not separately from it.
How long does it take to get the compensation?
The law sets the deadlines, not us: when there is eligibility and a written demand was made, the ticket price should be refunded within 21 days and the compensation should be paid within 45 days. The law does not require the airline to reply, so an airline can stay silent and be in breach. After 45 days without payment, a recorded escalation letter goes out, and if there is still no payment, the next step is small claims court. We count the deadlines and update you on every change.
How does the money flow, and who gets what?
Under a payment instruction you sign when you open the case, the airline is asked to pay the compensation into a dedicated FlyBack business bank account used only to receive and transfer claim payments. This is not a lawyer's trust account. Once the money arrives, we deduct the success fee (26% + VAT), issue you a proper tax invoice, and transfer the full balance to your account within 7 business days, with a detailed statement: how much came in, how much the fee was, and how much went to you. No compensation, no fee. You don't give a credit card and you don't pay us anything out of your pocket.
