When a flight is cancelled, in most cases the passenger is entitled to cash compensation fixed by law, ₪1,530-₪3,670 per passenger by flight distance, on top of a ticket refund and regardless of the price paid. Eligibility depends on the circumstances, mainly on when you were notified and on the alternative flight. The right also applies to a departure delay of 8 hours or more, and you can claim for flights from the last 4 years. Our check is free.
Our system follows the Ben Gurion flight board around the clock: when a flight is disrupted, we save the evidence from the sample in which the change appeared, with a timestamp and a file fingerprint, before you even contact us. How it works →
- Nothing to pay upfront
- Fee only if we succeed
- We check against the Ben Gurion flight board and keep each record with a SHA-256 fingerprint
- Send a photo of your ticket from your phone, and we read the details
- We check under both Israeli and European law, and claim under the route that gives you the most
Why us
Elsewhere, a case starts when you get in touch. Ours started when the flight was disrupted.
Real records from our system. Each record captures what the public Israel Airports Authority board showed at the time of sampling, with a timestamp and a SHA-256 fingerprint.
The timeline records what appeared on the board, and when. It does not decide why the flight was disrupted: the cause and any exemption the airline claims are checked separately, and the burden of proving an exemption is on the airline.
- 16:20Cancelled · CANCELED
File fingerprint 25216acf8ab4ea67…The first sample in which the cancellation appeared on the board. Saved with a timestamp and a file fingerprint.
- 16:35Delayed · DELAYED
File fingerprint 188fdd360285126b…A quarter of an hour later the status changed to “Delayed”, with a new time of 03:05 at night.
- 21:05Cancelled · CANCELED
File fingerprint c54744a45dc736bf…45 minutes before the scheduled departure, the flight is cancelled again. This is the last status recorded before the original departure time.

The airline has systems and a legal department.
Now passengers have a system too.
Under Israel's Aviation Services Law, the party that has to prove an exemption is the airline, not you. Against a recorded timeline from the public board, it is a claim that has to be proven.
Airlines have data, systems and legal departments. A passenger is usually left with a memory, a text message or a screenshot, if there was time to take one. We built FlyBack to change that balance: the system follows the public Israel Airports Authority flight board, saves status changes in real time and links the facts to the sections of the law.
We do not promise a result and we do not invent eligibility. We save what was shown, show the source, and claim what the law allows.

Every check ends with a boarding pass: the flight, the legal ground and, what really matters, the amount the law sets for a flight like this.
We do not have customer ratings yet. FlyBack went live in July 2026, and we do not show stars we have not earned or invent testimonials. Once a customer receives compensation and agrees to publish a review, it will appear here with a link to its public source, so you can check it yourself. Frequently asked questions
How do I get compensation for a cancelled flight?
Three steps: check your flight against the Ben Gurion flight board (30 seconds, free), fill in your details and sign a power of attorney digitally, and from there we send the airline an administrative demand using the flight facts, passenger details, statutory amounts and the available evidence, and track the deadlines set by the law. The compensation goes into a dedicated FlyBack business bank account, the fee is deducted from it, and the balance is transferred to you within 7 business days with a detailed statement. No credit card and nothing out of your pocket.
When am I entitled to compensation under the law?
Cash compensation may apply in two situations: a flight cancelled with less than 14 days' notice, without an alternative flight within the time limits set by the law, or a flight that took off 8 hours late or more, which the law treats as a cancellation. The amount is fixed by distance, ₪1,530-₪3,670 per passenger, subject to the exceptions in the law. Even without compensation, you keep the right to a ticket refund or an alternative ticket, your choice, and to assistance. A flight moved significantly earlier and being denied boarding also give you rights.
What does the flight cancellation law (Israel's Aviation Services Law) say?
The Aviation Services Law (Compensation and Assistance due to Flight Cancellation or Change of Conditions), 5772-2012, says that a passenger whose flight was cancelled is generally entitled to three things: a refund of the ticket price or an alternative ticket (their choice), assistance (food, communication and, if needed, a hotel), and fixed cash compensation based on the flight distance, regardless of the ticket price, unless one of the exceptions in the law applies (for example notice of 14 days or more in advance).
How long does the airline have to pay?
When there is eligibility and a written demand was made, the ticket price should be refunded within 21 days, and the cash compensation should be paid within 45 days. These are payment deadlines, not a duty to reply: an airline can stay silent and be in breach, and then the next step is a recorded escalation letter and small claims court.
When is there no compensation for a cancelled flight?
Mainly in two situations: when you were told about the cancellation 14 days or more before the flight, or when you were offered an alternative flight at a time very close to the original (according to the tiers set by the law). If the alternative flight landed only slightly late, a 50% reduced compensation may apply (₪765-₪1,835) instead of the full amount. Whenever in doubt, it is worth checking; our check is free.
Flight cancelled because of the war: is there compensation?
Not every cancellation during a security situation is exempt from compensation. The burden of proof is on the airline, and a general reference to the "security situation" is not enough, according to small claims court rulings. The law sets specific exemption periods for defined dates, and even within them the rights to a refund and to assistance remain. We check every date against the exact exemption periods.
I got an alternative flight. Can I still get a refund or compensation?
Possibly. Compensation depends on when you were notified and on the times of the alternative flight. Notice of 14 days or more in advance rules out cash compensation. An alternative outside the time limits in the law may qualify for full compensation, and if you reached your destination within 2, 3 or 4 hours of the original time, depending on the flight distance, you may qualify for reduced compensation of ₪765, ₪1,225 or ₪1,835. Even if you already flew on the alternative flight, you can claim for flights from the last 4 years.
How much compensation does the law set?
The law fixes the compensation by flight distance, per passenger: ₪1,530 for a flight of 2,000 km or less, ₪2,450 for 2,000-4,500 km, and ₪3,670 for more than 4,500 km. The amount does not depend on the ticket price, and it is linked to the consumer price index. Eligibility depends on when you were notified of the cancellation and on the alternative offered. Every passenger who was issued a paid ticket is checked separately, children included.
How much does the service cost?
Nothing upfront. You get 69.32% of the compensation received: the success fee is 26% + VAT, and it is charged only from compensation actually received. No compensation, no payment. The full price is published on the pricing page, with no small print.
What if the airline claims "extraordinary circumstances"?
The burden of proof is on the airline, not on you. This follows from small claims court rulings: a general reference to the "security situation" does not exempt an airline from compensation. We check every case against the exact exemption periods set by the law, with recorded evidence from the Ben Gurion board.
Why does it matter that the evidence was collected in real time?
Because the official Ben Gurion flight board is a rolling window: it shows only a few days back, and after that the information is no longer public. Our system samples the board every 5 minutes and saves every status change with a timestamp and a SHA-256 fingerprint as soon as it is published. So even months after the cancellation, the demand rests on a record made at the time, not on memory, and the burden of proving an exemption stays on the airline.
How far back can I claim?
4 years from the date of the flight. Even a flight from 2 or 3 years ago is worth checking. If the flight was before our tracking started, we will check it manually, for free.
The airline offered a voucher or future credit instead of money. Do I have to accept it?
No. The choice between a full cash refund and an alternative ticket belongs to the passenger alone, not to the airline. Under sections 6(a)(2) and 6(f) of Israel's Aviation Services Law, the operator or organiser announcing a cancellation must present the passenger with the options for reaching the destination, and may not just offer a voucher. Denying the right to choose may also justify exemplary damages, at the court's discretion and subject to proof that the breach was knowing.
